The book is mostly about a elf. We even have elf in our class named Snickers. He looks to see if we are naughty or nice. He goes to Santa about us. He can hide in the bathroom, kitchen, or in the toy box and in the den. But you can not touch it because it will lose its magic. But he will come back some day. Snickers noes when you are awake and he noes if you are asleep. I compared and contrasted with Mya I. There are things that are alike. We both like the color blue. We both like mint chocolate chip ice cream. We both like Mal from Descendants. There are things that are different too. I like Wicked World but Mya I likes Sonic. I like Descendants but Mya I likes Walking Dead. I like Elsa but Mya I likes Merida.I had fun comparing and contrasting with Mya I.
Hello my name is Brehanne Gauthier.
We were just lerning about catapiller's and there life cikel. They start off as a egg then turn into a catapiller. Then a cristlis and last but not least then a butterfly. We go to lunch at 11:15 to 11:40. I almost forgot dismissal is at 2:15. I hope everyone has a very happy and magnfint joyfull Tuesday! My name is Simeon. We read Habit 1: Be proactive. We made caterpillar homes. We used a plastic cup. Then we put food in there. The food is smooshed leaves. We put the caterpillar in there. We read the elf and the dormouse. We did math. We practiced money. We read chrysanthemum. We smooshed a heart when they said bad things to her and we fixed it when they said good things. We put band-aids on it because people said bad things and we were trying to fix it.
This week went well. We kept getting brownie points. We get brownie points by teachers giving us compliments. We need 2 more then the whole class gets real brownies to eat. We have had a wonderful first five days together! We are getting to know each other, our school, and our expectations well. We have been reading stories about making new friends, using kind words, and being our interesting, unique selves. Chrysanthemum by Kevin Kenkes is one of these stories. As we read, we discussed the effects that unkind words have on each of us. For a visual, we passed around a real paper heart. As the students in the story said unkind words to Chrysanthemum, we wrinkled up the paper heart. At the end of the story, we tried to smooth out the wrinkles to make it perfect again. The students realized that it was not possible to completely flatten the heart again. Even though we can apologize for unkind words, they can never really be taken back and that wrinkle can stay forever in someone's heart. Students wrote their name on a bandage and placed it on our paper heart. This was their pledge that they would try their best not to put "wrinkles" in anyone's heart this year at school. Thanks to... ....for this terrific idea! It helped us understand the effect that words can have on each other. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
